Want to know how to invite more people to see your presentation, whether it’s a face-to-face presentation or just simply watching an online video. Today, I share with you 3 simple tips on how you can get more people willing to see your presentation.
Inviting is The Gateway Skill
Learning how to invite is one of the most important business skills you need to develop if you want to build a successful business. Network marketing legend Eric Worre even calls being learning how to invite prospects as the Gateway Skill simply because if you don’t know how to invite people to watch a video or meet with you face-to-face to see a presentation, you don’t have a business.
Mind you that this is not just a skill that is solely for network marketers. People involved in sales jobs like real estate brokers or insurance agents, traditional business owners, and even those that work in non-profit organizations that host charity events can all benefit from developing the skill of inviting people.
Why We Get This All Wrong?
The reason why many people, particularly network marketers, struggle in inviting people to see their presentation is the way they come across to their prospects. Most, if not all of us, are just so excited to share to everyone we know about our network marketing business that we just go ahead and bombard them with everything that we know about the company, the products and how they can make money. Excitement is great, but if we’re not careful, our excitement can also turn off our prospects.
Cardinal Rules on How to Invite
- Let them know you’re busy. Before you even go into the actual invitation, make sure that you already give your prospect a heads up that you’re busy. Here’s a good example that you can use: “Hi ! I’m just on my way to a meeting now, but I just wanted to check to see if you’re free for about 10 minutes on ?”
- Acknowledge that you value their time. This helps you eliminate the “I’m busy” objection, because you already gave them a heads up that you know that they are busy, and that’s the reason why you’re asking when they can allot a few minutes to meet with you.
- Watch the way you talk. Your prospect will not believe that you’re really busy if you talk very slowly. Talking also very slowly gives an impression of you having a lack of confidence, and you’re not sure in what you’re saying. Busy, confident people talk rather quickly and in an upbeat tone.
- Be courteous. Whether or not your prospect agrees to meet with you, give them a quick “thanks” before ending the conversation. Remember, it’s very easy for them to ignore your call or your text, so be grateful and appreciative that they even took the time to answer your call or reply to your text.
